It has been a good long time since I've posted (and rightly so, maybe more on that at some future time). Things have been quite crazy "out there", but that's what was expected and should most certainly come as no surprise. Between the now admitted triple meltdown at the Fukushima nuke plant, the record breaking floods that currently threaten one or possibly two nuclear plants here in the US and the raging wild fires currently threatening the Los Alamos nuclear storage containers in New Mexico, there definitely appears to be a "running theme" developing. Then there's the continuing "GlobalRev" uprisings around the world along with the failed attempts to hijack the movements by TPTB, the continuing economic collapse playing out like a slow motion train wreck and the incredible weather anomalies that are only now being recognized as "incredible" by the MSM. Again, maybe more on these at a future time.
See, that's not what this post is about. I'm not interested in posting an "update" on the news, nor an editorial opinion piece...nor even a "how to" type article about RVing or growing a container garden in a campground somewhere in Florida.
If you're not already "up-to-date", you're simply doing it wrong.
If you're more interested in what I have to say than what an expert has to say, I thank you but please do check out the expert first - we can chat later about what he/she says.
If you haven't been greedily consuming everything you can find on the net about "how to" this or that, you are not only wasting valuable time but you most likely deserve the ignorance you currently possess on your particular "this or that".
No - this "post" is a sort of reminder of what should be considered sustainable. This post is here to help clarify some very false and potentially lethal misinformation that's out there (and has been out there), and hopefully help guide the misguided toward a more rational middle path (both in a physical, practical sense and in a more "spiritual path" or "way of life" kind of way).
And to top it all off, I'm not even going to write a "proper post". I'm going to simply embed a video you should watch, in which an actual expert talks about this, and leave it at that. So here's that video:

Web Bots, Japan and ... Nuclear Fallout?
I haven't posted anything to the blog in quite some time now... Almost an entire month. Why? Because it seems like DOOM is basically just falling from the sky these days. In fact, it very well might be soon. It certainly already is in Japan.
We'll start this by taking a look at a couple references from the Web Bot Project's "Shape of Things to Come" report released back in January. Specifically, I'm concerned here with a LACK of direct reference to the Japanese earthquake, tsunami, and ensuing nuclear meltdown.
There are many references throughout the report to ocean current and tidal anomalies, rising sea levels, flooding, earthquakes, etc, yet there are only two occurrences of the word "tsunami", both of which refer to the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004. This is quite interesting, especially in light of this statement from page 15 of the report: "The data is NOT specifically saying that any given [earthquake] will be more devastating than any other earthquake this year..."
There are some references to specifically flooding-in-conjunction-with-earthquakes that do occur in the report, as well as a reference to specifically Katrina like devastation, only on a larger scale.
Page 36: "Some of the [flood] descriptor sets also include support for [earthquakes] and [earthquake damages] that are also contributory to the [impact levels (of the) floods]. These [earthquake] sets are dwarfed by the Terra entity [earthquake] sets, so that entity needs to be taken into account, but there are nonetheless, significant sets pointing to [earthquakes] that [precipitate damages] that in turn [cause] some [flooding], and [exacerbate] other [floods] already in place."
Page 36: "... Some of these linguistic sets are reminiscent of the language we saw that allowed us to forecast the Katrina hurricane disaster. There are 4/four sets located so far that have sums for impact (damage levels) that are higher than we had prior to Katrina. Not only do the descriptor sets contain the 'usual' kind of [disaster] language such as [buildings collapsing] and [levees failing], but also there are sets that contain [(insanity producing) gas releases] and [toxic waste contamination] and [contamination by fuel spills (of magnitude)]. ..."
As we know, we have already seen major flooding this year in several locations, not the least of which includes northeastern Australia. I suppose that now we can deduce that two of these four or more distinct events have already happened.
The truly interesting part in this is that the earthquake and tsunami events themselves, while truly catastrophic and will surely be memorable, have received less of a "fear quotient" than the current happenings with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Also, the loss of life was thankfully small compared to such events that have occurred in the past. The ongoing overheating problems, radiation leakage and "partial meltdowns" at the six reactors in the FUK-1 nuclear power plant, has the potential to devastate the region for decades and cause many more deaths.
And this is where the radiation references come in.
Page 10: "The Terra entity continues to show that [toxic contamination] including [waves (of) radiation] will be problems for [humans] and [animal life] over the next 3/three years. The data sets are supported at the primary levels by [accumulation (of radiation exposures)]... These aspect/attributes are focused on [space based effects], however there are Terra based linguistic sets that include [airplane radiation exposure], and [inclusion (of) radiation] within [daily concern]... Some of the detail layers provide the image of teevee stations and a new position of [radiation forecaster] with [daily minutes] devoted to [broadcasting radiation alerts]."
Also related to this disaster appears that monster again, "ill winds", along with the continuing "diaspora" language, mainly related to migration away from coastal areas due to the ongoing "global coastal event(s)".
Page 25: "... Further cross links to the Populace/USofA entity from this area are terminating in [tainted water resources] sub set that had held the [results from the oil volcano] set in previous Shape and ALTA reports. In this case the cross links contain detail sets that include internal connections to the [ill winds]. Again, the sets holding the [valley] where the [ill winds] cause a [health risk] are continuing to gain supporting sets. ...descriptors we continue to get include [large] and [well traversed (by major roadway system)], [high mountain] and [south opening]."
Considering both the extreme nature of the data in this latest report, as well as the sheer amount of it, I certainly wont be calling Clif and his team out on not specifically pointing to the Japanese quake, tsunami and ensuing nuclear meltdowns. The data is certainly there, mixed in amongst many other pieces of data related to many other, and likely more extreme, sudden catastrophic events. We can safely expect at least two more major water related disasters in the coming months, at least one of which will likely be related to a tsunami event caused by a major earthquake.
From the data in this report, it's also looking likely that radiation, and radioactive fallout, will become a major issue not only for Japan, but for the whole northern hemisphere. This could be due to ongoing disasters at the FUK-1 plant in Japan, or it could be (more likely in my opinion) that other nuclear disasters are quickly approaching.
The fact that the events in Japan began unfolding BEFORE the expected turn into "release language" (March 21st), during the culmination of "building tension language" that began in the latter part of January, means we're about to experience one hell of a wild and tragic ride.

Wisconsin Protests and Web Bot "HOLE Incident"
It's been developing for a few days now, but sort of "in the background". Today, however, it's grabbing the top headlines on Drudge. Firstly, let's get an idea of what's going on and how this all started.
The story goes like this: The federal government in the US is broke. Nearly every state government in the US is broke. Wisconsin finds itself at number 28 when ranked against all the other states based on state and local debt in the year 2010, ranked low to high (dollar amounts in billions). The US Debt Clock website shows, as of writing this, current debt per citizen in Wisconsin stands at $7,689.
Could it be worse? Sure could - look at California on that chart...ALL the way down on the bottom with the highest debt figure - $433.5 billion. That's roughly 11 times the amount of state and local debt, for the year 2010, as Wisconsin had. Yet the debt per citizen there is only showing as $9,815 on their State Debt Clock page, which is not significantly higher than Wisconsin's. Why? Simple - California has a much higher population. With a higher population, the debt is sort of "spread thin" amongst the people and each person's slice of the "fiscal irresponsibility pie" is that much smaller. There's a similar situation when you look to Massachusetts, which ranks at number 44 with roughly $98.7 billion of state and local debt, yet due to the lower population shows a whopping debt per citizen of $15,392 on the state's Debt Clock page.
So it's obvious at this point that the state of Wisconsin is broke, even if they're not as bad off as many others. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker knows this and proposed a bill that would help fill in the $137 million "hole in the state budget" this year and the $3.2 billion "hole" by mid-2013, which sounds like a good idea. Put the fires out before things rage out of control like they have in other states, right? The plan he outlines in the bill would require public employees to pay around 5.5% into their pension plans, a significant increase in Wisconsin but actually about the average nationwide. Also, public employees would have their health insurance premiums increased to about 12%, which is about half the national average. That all sounds pretty damn reasonable - and smart. Yet, we see this:
So why in bloody hell are these people protesting? Are they not willing to help get their own state back on track, reigning in the irresponsible spending practices and criminal underfunding that's been taking place for years?
Now, this is where the Governor of Wisconsin overstepped. His bill aims to remove basically all the public employee rights to collective bargaining. That means unions would lose the right to negotiate on issues like working hours, training, health and safety, or overtime. The bill does allow unions the right to use collective bargaining on matters of wages/salary, but otherwise strips away the power of unions to do much of anything constructive.
That's why people in Wisconsin started protesting. The fact that the Governor then overstepped again, threatening the use of the National Guard to break up the protests, just adds fuel to the fire.
Yeah, now we're starting to see the bigger picture. Basically threatening the use of force to stop peaceful protests over controversial legislation. No wonder this is becoming front page news!
[Edit 2-18: Feel I need to address the issue of whether or not the Governor actually threatened the use of National Guard troops to "quash protesters" - his original statement on last week was ambiguous at best and was styled, in my and many others opinions, to intimate this and he has, in fact, stated even in his clarification that the National Guard troops will be used for any purposes he sees fit. Again, while never explicitly stating that he plans to impose police state measures by rolling out National Guard troops (freshly returned from active battle) as an impromptu police force, this is still a real possibility that the Governor of Wisconsin has previously hinted at.]
Now, on to the seriously freaky web bot connection, which caused me to write this post.
This is from the Shape Of Things To Come report released in January (emphasis added):
on page 3: "The reader needs to be advised that *some* texts within this report will point to specific instances of upcoming violent events without providing additional descriptors of the event, though peripheral elements not germane but pertinent may well be provided. Got that? When you see an obvious 'hole' in the text, there is a good reason for it to be there."
on page 31: "The [destruction of civil life] sub set contains repeated references to [civil unrest] and [riots], as well as [armed insurrection]. This last is cross linked extensively to the TPTW and Markets entities. Within the [destruction of civil life] sub set are the previously described (in past ALTA reports) instances of [mob action] that results in the [burning alive] of [minions] and ['power elites'] and their [families]. The HOLE incident will act as a [spark] to [spreading contagion] {ednote: from the words to-be-used by the political minions} that is indicated to [start a riot] in an [urban area (north of DC)] that will itself [spread like fire]. The data sets are showing a lot of support for the [riots] sub set through Spring and Summer, but the [mother of all riots] does not appear within our data sets until later in HOLE."
and on page 43: "The SpaceGoatFarts entity also has some hints that the aware observer should keep a wary eye out for the appearance of the [planet-terran society] in 2011. This [group of planet-terrans] will be worth watching. The effective temporal markers include the [aftermath] of some [riots (in usofa, east coast, likely Spring)] that will [unleash (big) stink (across the nation}]. Note HOLE"

No Sunnis, no Shiites. We are all Anonymous?
As the global revolution continues to move forward, we in "the west" are finally being forced to face up to the fact that these aren't just "radical Islamic zealots" angry about a "sudden lack of food". They're people fed up with their governments who are putting their foot down as a citizenry, exercising their God given Duty to "throw off" what's not working for their countries and their people. The protests and revolutions taking place in North Africa and the Middle East continue to captivate my attention daily. An interesting thing, however, has happened in the last few days that I absolutely must give some attention to.
Evidently, after US security company, HBGary, made repeated attempts to infiltrate Anonymous, threatening to release the identities of people involved in this so-called "hacktivist" movement, Anonymous hacked back, releasing thousands of private emails from the company's servers. But one thing they freed from the servers was a surprise to all - the notorious Stuxnet computer worm. Now, you might remember that this incredible computer worm was responsible for basically the shutdown of the entire Iranian nuclear program. Russia, who is collaborating with Iran on the construction of a nuclear power plant, even called out NATO, demanding an investigation on this "worm". Their claim? It could have caused a "Chernobyl tragedy"!
Now, it's painfully obvious to anyone who reads up on this thing that it was developed jointly by high-level government agencies, almost certainly including the US and Israel. The New York Times reported on this only weeks ago. It's also painfully obvious that this thing is truly in a class of its own. Never before has such a magnificent "weapon of mass destruction" been created with digital 1s and 0s. And now it's in the hands of "Anonymous".
Now, I'm not gonna say that I like Anonymous. In fact, I'm sure they're a bunch of jerks in real life. What I will say, however, is that this loosely-knit group of "hacktivists" has been doing some serious work on "our behalf". From the Scientology campaigns back in early 2008 to "Operation Tunisia" and their activities involving the Egyptian protests, these people have worked hard, effectively combining the resources of many, to ensure the freedom of information world-wide. That said, they now hold in their hands the most potent and destructive computer worm ever created. Holy crap, huh?
My take is that it's just a continuation of what we see going on in the streets of now Bahrain - a literal putting down of the foot by the people of the world. The world, as a whole, is fed up with totalitarian and tyrannical control by powerful elites and secretive cabals. The world's people clearly see the growing division between themselves and their own happiness. They want change for the better and simply aren't willing to stand by letting their human dignity be trampled by "greedy bastards" any longer. People want to be free. Information wants to be free. And this is what the whole world is fighting for.

Those Damn Web Bots...Again and Again...
Thought I'd put a little bit up on the progress of the web bot predictions and how things have come to play out since the last update I posted, Latest Updates from Web Bots and Assange's Plan B. In that post I noted firstly the imminent "dam" near-disaster, related to it "nearly collapsing" or "scooting off its base", and being caught in the nick of time by "sharp eyes". As we know, just days later, 4,500 people were evacuated as water began seeping under the large dirt levy that held back the massive flood waters. Not quite a dam, per say, but it might as well have been.

I mean, honestly, with astrology we see markers...get a general idea of things...and the general idea is that some form of political dissent will be brought forth over human rights issues, and these are tied inextricably with the "melting pot" and personal freedom loving natures of that US natal Moon. This is a unique marker in the progress of the US Saturn return and seems to point to a significant shifting on what we Americans think about over the next 7 to 14 years. If I'm right, the first signs of this would show up around February 14th in what could become called the "Valentine's Day Protests", as the Sun, Mercury and Mars transit this point.
This Saturn return is about a national face lift here in the US, but it has significant international ramifications as it's painfully clear that the spirit of the US is no longer confined to our tiny quadrant of the world. The "American Dream" has spread throughout the world and, in a very real sense, the fate of the world is directly tied to challenges we face in the US. Will we all come together in a great global protest against un-American ideals, or will we, the American's, take a back seat and let the rest of the world achieve what we once upon a time achieved, letting our own domestic situation degrade into what they face today? Latest Updates from Web Bots and Assange's Plan B
Looks like the guys over at the web bot project are calling the alarms on what's going on with the weather, especially regarding the flooding in Australia. Yesterday, Clif High released a note about what they've been calling for since at least last summer - issues with dams...one, in particular, being a near failure scenario. Evidently, the data they're working with currently is literally screaming about this dam - specifically, screaming that this dam is about to be "shifted off it's base" in some way. Official water levels for the dams in that area are nearly all at 100%, and many are already spilling over. Should be interesting to see if this comes to play out. One thing's for certain, the flooding there in Australia is beyond anything ordinarily imaginable and it will likely be stretching on for days or weeks yet. Hopefully the part about this being a "near" failure is true.
Unfortunately, flooding of this magnitude wont be confined to Australia. Already, there are massive floods in various places all around the world that are causing damage and loss of life. A quick look around the news this morning shows severe flooding has been occurring in Brazil, Sri Lanka, the Philipines, and South Africa. The potential for flooding in Oregon and Washington over the next few days as well as a lot of talk about the impact of the snow melt for most of the western states this spring is also in the news - record snowfalls do usually mean record melt and runoff. This on the heels of the record flooding experienced just last month in southern California...
Meanwhile, of note is the SST anomaly map that shows the waters between Canada and Greenland still so much warmer than normal that I'm really starting to get panicky. Water temperatures between 60W and 40W, 45N up to 70N, are ranging up to 5*C above normal. Translated to Fahrenheit, that's up to 9* warmer than they should be for this time of the year. This has been going on all winter so far, with no sign of letting up. This could spell complete disaster for the Atlantic currents, which we already know are in bad shape. Also, as expected, down here in the Gulf of Mexico the water temps are generally hovering about 1*C below normal with some areas reaching down to nearly 4*C below normal. Looks like no help on that persistent trough that keeps setting up for the east coast of the US. Expect more blizzard scale nor'easters over the next few weeks. In fact, the one slamming the north east this morning has already dropped over 20 inches of snow in parts of Connecticut.
Back to the web bots, however, as another interesting and very unnerving update from Clif is pointing to some pretty violent shaking in the markets over the short term. Specifically, Clif is mentioning phrases like "basket" and "bad foods", and is saying this appears to be a "planet wide" event that will be described by mainstream media as a "boil over" situation. Also of note, he's seeing some serious issues related to precious metals and/or gold where some kind of derivative fails due to a crises. My mind, of course, races with thoughts of JP Morgan and the COMEX being fully and publicly exposed for their fraudulent activities. If that's the case, now would certainly be the time to move all your investments out of cash and paper and into gold and oil. I wish I had something to move myself!
And that brings me back to our favorite puppet, Julian Assange of Wikileaks. For the record, I'm pretty convinced at this point that he's been an unknowing, as opposed to knowing, participant in this whole grand scheme. In an interview with John Pilger for NewStatesman, Assange has reassured the world that he has "insurance" files that will be released in the event he's imprisoned or worse, sentenced to death. Evidently, Assange's lawyers are concerned about him facing the death penalty if he's extradited to the US. I'd also be more than a little concerned about the potential for "accidents" to happen - fatal car and plane crashes definitely come to mind. Of course, Assange isn't just warning TPTB about his insurance files, but also warns about hundreds of embassy cables relating to a particular "broadcasting organization" (BBC perhaps?) as well as some specifically about News Corp's Rupert Murdoch of all people.
The question is, will the mainstream media even care enough to cover more Wikileaks releases? The latest shows a certain lack of excitement on that front, as CNBC is already looking to soften the impact of the coming bank documents release. Whatever the case, they're stepping up efforts to get this stuff out soon and, my guess is, it wont be more than a week before we see the first wave of these bank documents come to light.

Revisiting the Web Bots
I like to run back about halfway through a "prediction" window to review what was said and see how things are measuring up. In this case, we're talking about the web bot predictions for Nov 2010 through to Feb 2011.
As I've already stated in a post in November, the "tipping point" seemingly did occur, manifesting itself in multiple areas. We saw the backlash against the TSA for groping and radiating our women and children, what still may have been a missile launch off the coast of California, the Wikileaks release of diplomatic cables (replete with media circus), and even the beginning of what became the latest in public Nuclear Armageddon hype with the shells fired by North Korea...A view of the DrudgeReport page this afternoon shows 7 stories talking about the fish and bird kills happening over the last few days, one of which is an infowars.com editorial that asks the question "Is Mass Bird and Fish Die Off Connected to Government Testing?". This is evidence of a very defined paradigm shift over the last month and a half, starting precisely at the beginning of the "tipping point" window predicted by the web bot.
Generally speaking, the shift that occurred has been for us sheeple to open our eyes to the things going on around us. People have been screaming all over the place about what's taking place right out in the open. Previous to the start of the predicted "tipping point", people weren't really screaming at all...at least not outwardly. The mainstream media covered horrendous stories without even asking questions (Remember the Gulf Oil Spill? The intense heatwave in Russia with hundreds to thousands of fires around Moscow?). Relatively few "mainstream" editorials dealt with the fraudsters in government and the large scale changes in the weather patterns. Now, however, it's as if that's all we care about.
The web bots had predicted a very steady decline into this "release language" starting on November 14th (originally the 8th) that would continue right through to January 17th. At that point things would shift to "building-tension language" for a short while, before falling off yet another cliff. So far, through to January 4th, that's exactly what we've seen.
So far, they seem to have hit the nail on the head.
In the update posted in November on the HalfPastHuman website, however, the web bots were predicting that on January 7th we'd see a sudden and significant acceleration of the release language leading into the 17th.
A very steady stream of release type news has been flooding the mainstream as people look around and realize what's been going on right under their noses. We can safely bet that we're in for some truly stunning revelations on or around the 7th, and with the planned Wikileaks releases relating to banks coming this month, we just might have an idea of what that news will be.
Personally, I can't wait.

Downright Chilling
In the northern hemisphere, we just experienced a lovely lunar eclipse on the night of the winter solstice. Many of us, from North America and Europe to parts of Asia, are experiencing one of the coldest, most extreme winters in recorded history. In the southern hemisphere, however, it was the summer solstice.
What The Telegraph reports today should really give us all a chilly shock to the system. Australia, entering the height of summer now, has experienced a major WINTER storm. Yes, that's right. A WINTER STORM.
Apparently, it's not just the northern hemisphere going through such extreme temperature swings. Whatever is affecting our weather here in the northern hemisphere, causing the jet stream to go berserk, is apparently a global phenomenon. I think we may be in for some pretty nasty changes in short order.

Trying to Tackle the Problem with the Jet Stream
I've been watching for weeks now as the jet stream breaks down, that "river of wind" that divides the cold air to the north from the warm air to the south (in the northern hemisphere anyway). If you don't know what a jet stream is, see the Wikipedia for some help before reading further.
Several weeks ago, I started noticing some really significant troughs developing in the jet stream. I mean, it's normal, especially this time of year, to see significant troughs suddenly develop along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains chain, but these were sudden and explosive. Being in Albuquerque, I had a front seat to the ensuing high winds and frigid temperatures associated with major troughs. Perhaps that's why I noticed the pattern emerging early on.
When a trough is developing in one part of the stream, to both the east and west of it the stream will curve opposite, forming ridges. Technically, the curvature of the jet stream, the troughs and ridges, are caused by Rossby Waves. That's, I'm sure, the case here, but something truly significant was occurring. The troughs were developing so deep and so rapidly that it seemed the ridge to the east wasn't able to develop fast enough and the whole system would appear to collapse. The jet stream would completely disconnect, as a ridge would move northward, heading for northern Canada, leaving the main jet stream behind. The trough would also appear to get cut-off and drift eastward as the jet stream flattened and reconnected in a simple west to east flow.
Odd enough on its own to see this happen multiple times over a couple weeks, but then a new pattern began to emerge. The troughs began digging even deeper as they developed, digging down as far as northern Mexico in a very narrow slice that seemed to defy logic. The troughs appeared to become more stable, also, as they held together long enough to travel all the way to the east coast, bringing 30s and 40s into central Florida. The major disconnect still occurred, but now off the east coast of the US and Canada. The ridge that developed would move backwards, westerly, into northern Canada and toward Hudson Bay as a new southern branch of the jet stream would form in the tropical Atlantic. At first, this southern branch would cut northward toward Britain, before regaining a semblance of normalcy over continental Europe.
About 3 weeks ago, strange storms began appearing in the GFS model forecast just off the east coast of the US, over the Gulf Stream. These storms would appear to develop before an advancing cold front as a trough made its way toward the east coast. The storm would begin as a small area of thunderstorms with a central low pressure area, much like you'd expect a subtropical cyclone to begin, but suddenly "bomb out" over 12-18 hours, becoming what appeared to be major baroclinic lows with high winds and heavy rainfall, on the *south side* of the jet stream.
The GFS would forecast the jet stream to detach, with a ridge moving northward over Greenland and drifting east toward Norway and a trough developing in the middle of the Atlantic digging southward to the coast of Africa.
These strange storms never materialized the way forecasted, but the jet stream pattern that emerged was right on the money. What followed was extreme cold for Europe as the jet stream dug through northern Africa and into the western Mediterranean. An article today on the effects of this extreme divergence of the normal jet stream pattern details temps dipping to 5*F in Poland, -4*F in Scotland and -11* in Moscow.
In the past week, another change to this pattern has emerged as the jet stream is now digging south past Hawaii, ridging over the western US, then digging a subtle trough toward Florida before B-lining straight across the Atlantic to western Africa. Check out these screenshots (24 hour intervals) from the GFS 250mb wind speed forecast from Stormsurf.
You'll note that the 00 "hindsight" shows the jet stream trough just east of Hawaii digging south toward the equator. A ridge cuts through northern California and east to the Great Lakes before another trough digs south in two branches, one reaching toward the Yucatan. The jet stream then follows a basically straight line heading through the Florida Straights to western Africa. You'll also notice the anomalous circle of high winds over Greenland - the weird cut-off ridge that keeps developing and drifts northward, then eastward toward Norway.
In the 24 hour forecast, you'll note a ridge beginning to migrate east into northern Canada as well as a sudden dig develop in the jet stream over the northern Caribbean, just north of Cuba and Haiti. There's also a shift of the pattern over Europe, with a ridge becoming defined from western Africa into Spain and a well-defined trough around Italy.
For the 48 hour forecast, the ridge developing toward northern Canada appears to cut-off from the main jet stream as a new "southern branch" appears to be developing over the Pacific, flowing west to east well south of Hawaii. In fact, you can almost make out a VERY southern branch of the jet stream developing and dipping south of the equator, off the coast of South America and cutting through Central America before reconnecting with the main jet stream in the Caribbean. By 72 hours, this pattern is more pronounced. A very zonal flow has developed across the southern US and the ridge in Canada has been completely cut off. You'll note that the cut-off ridge over Greenland reconnects with the main jet stream, as well, while a developing ridge over Europe becomes more pronounced.
By the 96 hour and 120 hour forecasts, however, a very pronounced trough is seen over the east coast of the US, the strange southern branch crossing the Pacific is bridging just north of Hawaii, and the now reconnected ridge over Greenland is migrating toward northern Europe. An area of high winds appears "stuck" off the coast of Florida as this massive ridge fully reconnects with the main jet stream, and by hour 144, the forecast shows that ridge beginning to disconnect again while a central branch of the jet stream forms a trough just off the coast of Africa and a southern branch develops digging south toward the equator over the Atlantic. The wind velocities off the east coast of Florida are at a peak, and at hour 168, the forecast shows the jet stream completely breaking down again with a major trough moving into western Africa.
Now, I know that's fairly boring to many, but what I'm seeing is a major issue developing as the winter season sets in for the northern hemisphere. Could this be caused by a Gulf Stream problem? It would sound good if we weren't seeing such a strange breakdown of normal jet stream patterns over the Pacific as well. Could this be caused by the strong La Nina in the Pacific? That would sound good if we saw a return to normal as the jet stream approached Europe. This appears to be a breakdown of the atmospheric dynamics themselves, as if something actually "broke" in the upper atmosphere and the traditional, rather stable division of hot and cold air along a zonal boundary is becoming more chaotic as a result.
This article from The Times in the UK details the recently confirmed discovery that the Gulf Stream and North Atlantic Drift are truly in danger of shutting down due to increases in melt water in the North Atlantic. Over the last 12 years, a 30% decrease in the cold water return flow has been measured. This, of course, could lead to a total breakdown of the thermohaline circulation. Remember "The Day After Tomorrow"? Yeah, that's what we're talking about here.
Earlier this fall, an article from the Russian Times warned about the coldest winter in 1,000 years for Europe. The article did claim the speed of the Gulf Stream has halved in the last couple of years, which isn't *entirely* true. From what I've gleaned from reading countless articles over the past months, it's being debated within scientific communities as to how much "slow down" has actually occurred in the Gulf Stream itself and, this even more hotly debated, how much of an effect it might have on the climate.
Needless to say, it's starting off as though they were right on the money with their prediction about it being the coldest in 1,000 years.
The problem is that it's not just the Atlantic, not just Europe, that's being affected here. As I said, the strange breakdown of the jet stream over the Pacific can't be explained by the Gulf Stream weakening on its own. What else is happening here? What are we missing?
And for a quick laugh, this article from The Telegraph actually blames "global warming" for a mysterious "blocking high" that has caused the jet stream to tweak out. I have to call BS as, not only is the same pattern developing over the Pacific but this "blocking high" the professor refers to in the article does not explain the troughs in the southern branch of the jet stream reaching nearly to the equator at times. That article is nothing but a puff-piece meant to put the minds of the masses at ease.

The troughs appeared to become more stable, also, as they held together long enough to travel all the way to the east coast, bringing 30s and 40s into central Florida. The major disconnect still occurred, but now off the east coast of the US and Canada. The ridge that developed would move backwards, westerly, into northern Canada and toward Hudson Bay as a new southern branch of the jet stream would form in the tropical Atlantic. At first, this southern branch would cut northward toward Britain, before regaining a semblance of normalcy over continental Europe.
About 3 weeks ago, strange storms began appearing in the GFS model forecast just off the east coast of the US, over the Gulf Stream. These storms would appear to develop before an advancing cold front as a trough made its way toward the east coast. The storm would begin as a small area of thunderstorms with a central low pressure area, much like you'd expect a subtropical cyclone to begin, but suddenly "bomb out" over 12-18 hours, becoming what appeared to be major baroclinic lows with high winds and heavy rainfall, on the *south side* of the jet stream.
The GFS would forecast the jet stream to detach, with a ridge moving northward over Greenland and drifting east toward Norway and a trough developing in the middle of the Atlantic digging southward to the coast of Africa.
These strange storms never materialized the way forecasted, but the jet stream pattern that emerged was right on the money. What followed was extreme cold for Europe as the jet stream dug through northern Africa and into the western Mediterranean. An article today on the effects of this extreme divergence of the normal jet stream pattern details temps dipping to 5*F in Poland, -4*F in Scotland and -11* in Moscow.
In the past week, another change to this pattern has emerged as the jet stream is now digging south past Hawaii, ridging over the western US, then digging a subtle trough toward Florida before B-lining straight across the Atlantic to western Africa. Check out these screenshots (24 hour intervals) from the GFS 250mb wind speed forecast from Stormsurf.
You'll note that the 00 "hindsight" shows the jet stream trough just east of Hawaii digging south toward the equator. A ridge cuts through northern California and east to the Great Lakes before another trough digs south in two branches, one reaching toward the Yucatan. The jet stream then follows a basically straight line heading through the Florida Straights to western Africa. You'll also notice the anomalous circle of high winds over Greenland - the weird cut-off ridge that keeps developing and drifts northward, then eastward toward Norway.
In the 24 hour forecast, you'll note a ridge beginning to migrate east into northern Canada as well as a sudden dig develop in the jet stream over the northern Caribbean, just north of Cuba and Haiti. There's also a shift of the pattern over Europe, with a ridge becoming defined from western Africa into Spain and a well-defined trough around Italy.
For the 48 hour forecast, the ridge developing toward northern Canada appears to cut-off from the main jet stream as a new "southern branch" appears to be developing over the Pacific, flowing west to east well south of Hawaii. In fact, you can almost make out a VERY southern branch of the jet stream developing and dipping south of the equator, off the coast of South America and cutting through Central America before reconnecting with the main jet stream in the Caribbean. By 72 hours, this pattern is more pronounced. A very zonal flow has developed across the southern US and the ridge in Canada has been completely cut off. You'll note that the cut-off ridge over Greenland reconnects with the main jet stream, as well, while a developing ridge over Europe becomes more pronounced.
By the 96 hour and 120 hour forecasts, however, a very pronounced trough is seen over the east coast of the US, the strange southern branch crossing the Pacific is bridging just north of Hawaii, and the now reconnected ridge over Greenland is migrating toward northern Europe. An area of high winds appears "stuck" off the coast of Florida as this massive ridge fully reconnects with the main jet stream, and by hour 144, the forecast shows that ridge beginning to disconnect again while a central branch of the jet stream forms a trough just off the coast of Africa and a southern branch develops digging south toward the equator over the Atlantic. The wind velocities off the east coast of Florida are at a peak, and at hour 168, the forecast shows the jet stream completely breaking down again with a major trough moving into western Africa.
Now, I know that's fairly boring to many, but what I'm seeing is a major issue developing as the winter season sets in for the northern hemisphere. Could this be caused by a Gulf Stream problem? It would sound good if we weren't seeing such a strange breakdown of normal jet stream patterns over the Pacific as well. Could this be caused by the strong La Nina in the Pacific? That would sound good if we saw a return to normal as the jet stream approached Europe. This appears to be a breakdown of the atmospheric dynamics themselves, as if something actually "broke" in the upper atmosphere and the traditional, rather stable division of hot and cold air along a zonal boundary is becoming more chaotic as a result.
This article from The Times in the UK details the recently confirmed discovery that the Gulf Stream and North Atlantic Drift are truly in danger of shutting down due to increases in melt water in the North Atlantic. Over the last 12 years, a 30% decrease in the cold water return flow has been measured. This, of course, could lead to a total breakdown of the thermohaline circulation. Remember "The Day After Tomorrow"? Yeah, that's what we're talking about here.
Earlier this fall, an article from the Russian Times warned about the coldest winter in 1,000 years for Europe. The article did claim the speed of the Gulf Stream has halved in the last couple of years, which isn't *entirely* true. From what I've gleaned from reading countless articles over the past months, it's being debated within scientific communities as to how much "slow down" has actually occurred in the Gulf Stream itself and, this even more hotly debated, how much of an effect it might have on the climate.
Needless to say, it's starting off as though they were right on the money with their prediction about it being the coldest in 1,000 years.
The problem is that it's not just the Atlantic, not just Europe, that's being affected here. As I said, the strange breakdown of the jet stream over the Pacific can't be explained by the Gulf Stream weakening on its own. What else is happening here? What are we missing?
And for a quick laugh, this article from The Telegraph actually blames "global warming" for a mysterious "blocking high" that has caused the jet stream to tweak out. I have to call BS as, not only is the same pattern developing over the Pacific but this "blocking high" the professor refers to in the article does not explain the troughs in the southern branch of the jet stream reaching nearly to the equator at times. That article is nothing but a puff-piece meant to put the minds of the masses at ease.

The "Web Bots" and the November 2010 "Tipping Point"
It was November 6th, only a few weeks ago. My mother, also a full-time RVer, had her check in hand. We were waiting in line at the bank branch in the local grocery store. We couldn't tell at first that something was up, but as we slowly got closer to the counter, we heard a bank clerk say something to a customer about the systems having gone down earlier that day.
What!?!
That's certainly not what we wanted to hear while waiting to cash a check. Moments later, a branch manager made the announcement that because the system had gone down earlier that day, some transactions wouldn't go through. He then made his way through the line, talking with each customer individually. When he got to us, I asked him about what was happening with their system. He told us that there was an outage earlier that day and that since then, some transactions would go through without a problem but others would fail. The whole country, he said, was experiencing the problem - and not just this bank but all the major banks.
Let me tell you, the hairs on the back of my neck couldn't have raised any higher without detaching from the skin!
You see, we were in the middle of the "web bot" predicted "tipping point". If you don't know what a "web bot" is, go google it. It's something I've been watching out of the corner of my eye for years now. The predicted "tipping point", originally forecasted to occur between November 8th and 11th, had me on edge for the week leading up to the 8th-11th window. What's more, I had just learned the day before that the window had been amended to start on the 6th and end on the 14th. Was this the beginning of a bank holiday and the accompanying SHTF scenarios?
We left only $40 in my bank account. Everything else went with us in cash to buy food, water and gas. Better safe than sorry, right?
Upon returning home that day, there was no mention of it in the news. Wish I could say it didn't surprise me, but it did. Silly me, I guess I still hold on to the notion that there is a real media to covering events like this. What was even more astonishing, however, was that I didn't see any mention of it in the alternative media sites. It's like it was a non-event.
When Monday arrived and there was no bank holiday, I breathed a highly cautioned sigh of relief. The world wasn't changing overnight - at least not yet. In fact, Monday seemed fairly uneventful at first glance. The only thing I really noticed was an increase in the tensions over the whole TSA body scanners deal. Nothing truly extraordinary other than the continued surge in gold and silver, with gold breaching $1400/oz and silver moving toward $30/oz in a hurry.
But later on Monday, something awfully amazing took place. The media was reporting a mysterious missile launch off the coast of California! "Wow!" is all I could think.
Is THIS the beginning of the SHTF scenarios?
Days later and still nothing. The California missile launch was being written off as just a jet with accompanying contrail. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
Then there was news of a big NASA announcement scheduled for the 15th dealing with an "exceptional object". "That has to be it," I thought. It's perfect - the "web bot" had predicted a plateau period between the 6th and 14th, with a sudden shift to "release language" on the morning of the 14th. Maybe it was off by a day, right?
Turns out it was just the discovery of a black hole "relatively" close to us - merely 50 million light years away.
And again, nothing to see here folks.
It'd be easy to write this all off as a failed prediction. Normal daily life 1 - Web Bots 0. Nothing huge and/or catastrophic happened. However, looking back, there was a definite shift in the paradigm during that week.
Prior to November 6th, very few Americans had anything to say about those TSA body scanners. Since the 14th, however, it's been non-stop, front-page mainstream fodder. From breast cancer survivors having their prosthetics inspected to old men being covered in urine, to little girls crying about being touched in all the wrong places. It's been all about the overstepping of boundaries, the disease spreading potential, and the harmful radiation. This country went from being effectively silent on issues of privacy, freedom and liberty to screaming at the tops of their lungs about a tyrannical government bent on destroying our last few freedoms in a mere week.
The snowball definitely started there. The student protests all over Europe continued, but were getting more and more violent with each passing day. The European bank run, scheduled for Decemeber 7th, was sparked by Eric Cantona's YouTube video right about the same time. Also, during the same time frame, the "Crash JP Morgan, Buy Silver" campaign began. All these coincident occurrences - it can't be a coincidence.
Anywho, I'm set to sit back and watch the "tipping point" evolve, for better or worse. Lesson learned: most big events don't just happen, they build up over time. Should be an interesting few months at the very least.
